Office of the Marquise

This page is to showcase my research projects! Basically this is for nonfiction stuff I like to research and write about, usually for wikis or essays. Maybe even a book someday? We'll see!

I'm a contributor on the LGBTQIA+ Wiki on Fandom. They're very strict with sourcing requirements compared to most other LGBT+ wikis out there. I take it as a challenge. You want good sources, I'll get you good sources!! Plus it's given me a great chance to do more research on LGBT+ topics besides just labels, like LGBT+ history and advocate groups.

I also sometimes make edits on the Mega Man Knowledge Base Wiki, but not nearly as frequently. And mostly for Battle Network articles whenever I do make edits.

I made a Carrd on the topic of Gender-related Terms. Essentially, it's meant to be a starting guide on genders, gender-neutral name examples, pronoun examples, gender-neutral titles, and nonbinary/LGBT+ sources. It's not an end-all-be-all for this kind of information, just an introduction of sorts. I hope people find it useful!

In case it isn't already obvious, most of my research interest is in LGBT+ topics. Mostly my drive behind this is seeing so much misinformation online, not to mention many people who seem to have a disinterest in preserving LGBT+ knowledge and history. I'm doing my part to help the community, it's the least I can do!

Topics and Articles

For some topics that I want to cover or have covered already! Either with a page of their own here on my website, or published somewhere else. If a topic is listed here but there is no link to another page, then it's probably something I'm still working on.

  • Other Interesting Identities in the LGBTQIA+ Community - Short blog post on the LGBTQIA+ Wiki discussing more specific identities in the LGBT+ community.
  • An Informal Discussion on the Agender Spectrum - As the title says, a LGBTQIA+ Wiki blog discussion on the agender spectrum. This was mostly written due to frustrations with how the agender spectrum often gets mentioned alongside the ace and aro spectra, yet barely gets any standalone recognition compared to the other two.
  • Common Xenogender Categories and Identities - Another LGBTQIA+ Wiki blog post, this time discussing common xenogender types and specific examples. Not based on a formal study nor survey, mainly just based off mine and other's observations from the Internet.
  • Agenderism - A discussion on agenderism in general, including what it is, the agender spectrum, and its place in the LGBT+ community.
  • Tips on How to Use PayPal as a "Content Creator" - A way for me to gather a whole bunch of great information about using a Business PayPal account as a creative person looking to make money, or at least get tips/donations for their work, all in one place.
  • Studies on How Fat Shaming Doesn't Actually Help - Exactly what it says on the tin, plus maybe ways to actually help people.

Future Projects

For future research projects, I'd like to write some articles on some of the information I covered in my Gender-related Terms Carrd in more depth. Again, mostly to help inform people of what's out there and how these things work. Not sure where I would publish them, but I think maybe I'd have the best luck with joining a nonbinary-focused group on Medium.

I'd also like to write at least two nonfiction books for info about nonbinary genders! One would be a sort of glossary book focused on more obscure terms, mostly because even now a lot of LGBT+ glossaries don't really get into the weeds of what's out there in the LGBT+ community. I know there's A Lot, but I'm gonna do my best to at least cover things as broadly as possible. The other would be a more in-depth book about agenderism, basically a huge expansion on the agenderism page I talked about above!
