Welp! Not sure if this will really go over well here on DeviantArt, but I guess I should post this here too since it's on my other social medias anyways. :P

SO! Long story short, Serenade is a secret boss/ultra powerful character from the MegaMan Battle Network series. And there's an official interview with some of the MegaMan Battle Network developers that describe Serenade as being a Navi who "transcends gender".

Then with English translations, the only reason some translations went with 'he' (like in the games) and other translations went with 'she' (the NT Warrior manga apparently even went back and forth between she and he in some prints/reprints of the books??) is probably because English doesn't really have widely used gender-neutral pronouns. Sure, there's singular they, but to be fair most people still find that weird because of plural they. Meh. :u

I'm kinda glad to have finally tracked this down, especially since I remember people had some... pretty wild fights over whether Serenade was supposed to be a guy or a gal. Like, basically people being really awful from all sides. But now they're both wrong, Senerade is officially just like "I'm gonna peace out from all this gender nonsense, bye" :XD:

Anyways, yeah, drew a quick Senerade with the nonbinary flag. Admittedly, it's nice seeing a character like this as confirmed for being neither really guy nor gal? Like, not just as headcanons/opinions, y'know? Plus the idea of "pretty much all-powerful being who also doesn't want to bother with things like gender/sex" is really neat to me, ha ha. :D
