New chapter, finally! Had been hoping to get this posted earlier this week, but work and life stuff had me busy. :u
It is a much shorter chapter than the last one, but it'll be setting up for things in the next chapter. Also, there's a special guest this chapter! The cover art of course spoils who the guest is, but yeah. :P
Also, used this cover art to try out some new foliage/leaves/grass brushes I bought for my art program, can you tell? Check out those leaves, haha! :XD:
So to end things off, this takes place after the end of Battle Network 4. For convenience, here's a couple of videos that explain what Match did during that time. Here is a video of Match's scenario for the Den Battle Tournament. Here is the BurnerMan.EXE scenario for the Eagle/Hawk Tournament, which also features Match! And here is a (very long) video for the ending of the game.
For the last one, the context is that Duo (the end boss of the game) is about to destroy the Earth with a computerized asteroid, but everyone manages to cheer on MegaMan enough that it somehow gives him the power to divert Duo's asteroid. I'm assuming it must have been some sort of derivative of the Power of Friendship, haha. :lol: Skip ahead to about 33:20 in the last video to see where Lan's friends try to convince a crowd to not give up yet, and then Match comes in and actually convinces everyone to not give up on Lan and MegaMan! There's an alternate version of this cutscene with Sal instead of Match, but I tracked down a video with the Match version because I felt it was very fitting for my fic. :>
Note that for the fic, each respective tournament from the two versions of Battle Network 4 are combined into one, hence Den City Battle Tournament instead of Den Battle or City Battle, and Eagle Hawk Tournament in place of Eagle or Hawk. The Red Sun/Blue Moon tournament(s) don't get mentioned in this chapter, but I'm gonna say that they got combined into a Purple Star Tournament in my timeline, because why the hell not. :XD:
