... Okay, I have many things to explain here, so bear with me for a bit. ^^;

First and foremost, this piece was inspired by this song! Bit of fair warning, it's going a rough noise kind of feel, which I personally like, but if you're not into that you may want to adjust your volume before you give it a listen. Anyways, yeah, I've been listening to this song a lot lately, and one time this image came to my mind. And for whatever reason I felt really motivated to actually make it real, so yeah. :D

(Small edit after initial posting: I found out that the creator of that song also has a few tags here on DeviantArt, it seems? So I've added a few of those, I think it's fitting since this is based off one of their songs. :> )

Second, I wanted to try out doing something using clip art!! Which is probably really weird to some people, and probably counts as 'cheating' to most. But eh, I made sure to use open source clip art for this, and I'll put the sources here in a little bit, so it should be all good I think! And besides, for each clip art I still made further modifications in my art program as well, so make of that what you will I guess. :P

Third, don't ask me about these characters, I just have their appearance here and not much else. Not even their genders tbh!! Maybe I'll develop them more later into proper OCs. Or maybe make them into adoptables? I dunno, I'll think about it. At the least, I feel like if they came from a cartoon or video game, they'd be from a series where there's a lot of violent humor. Or maybe something like Invader Zim but more violent. :u

Lastly, here's the credits for all the clip art I used. They're open source so crediting them isn't exactly necessary, but I wanted to do this out of respect for the fact that they were freely available in the first place! Also in case anyone ended up curious about where I got them from.

So anyways, I'm really happy with how this turned out! I did some experimenting with the lineart (or at least the coloring of it) and the shading. With the shading especially, I used a different brush than I normally do, to give it a more scratchy texture. I like how it looks, especially since it also adds more to the "off" feel I was going for with the overall art. :>

The characters shown here are © to me, Wren the Dragon Marquise (unless I later go ahead with turning them into adoptables or something :P ). Please do not use my art without my permission, thank you!
