As the title says, the idea for drawing this came from a dream. A dream from a while ago actually, I had to take care of other drawings first between then and now. But today I managed to draw this, since I still had an urge to share what I saw! Lemme take a few minutes to explain further, if you don't mind. :u

Basically, it was a weird dream I had a while ago about an episode of NT Warrior. Lan got turn into a little kid (like, actual little kid, not his usual 11 year old self :P ) and Maddy and Match have to take care of him because he thinks they're his parents. And it's explained in the episode that Lan's actual parents are conveniently out of the country on a vacation at the time. And then something about Grave returning to attack Lan now that he's basically defenseless, and Maddy and Match basically get to be heroes for the day or something?? The rest of the episode is kinda vague in my head, but I do remember it having a bunch of funny moments. :XD: 

Though, the dream was also animated in this style like... I want to say it was like a cross between Invader Zim and Panty & Stocking, but it wasn't quite like that? Kinda? I think it may have also been influenced by a bunch of animated Japanese music videos I had been watching a day or so before the dream too (namely this, and this, and this; they're all really good with cool music! Though I imagine they're not all everyone's cup of tea, haha). And the dream animation also had textures/patterns over the character's clothes, kind of like Chowder. I tried to recreate what I saw based on my memory, and I... got kinda close.

... also I gotta say, it feels bizarre to draw Mr. Match so scrawny, eugh. :P Despite that type of weirdness, maybe I will return to this style someday in the future and refine it a bit more. Overall it was honestly really fun to draw in a more loose and blatantly cartoony style like this. :)

Also also, not sure the chances of this, but: If anyone is interested in expanding on this idea, be it another drawing, or as a comic or fic or whatever, feel free to go ahead! I really have no plans to expand on or revisit this myself anytime soon, so yeah. Obviously just be willing to credit me with the original idea (dreams still count as ideas, right? :u ), and give me a heads up so I can check it out! :D
