First and foremost, yes, her name is a pun on the word 'decibel'. :P

Second, she is an OC of mine. Like, actually original, not just a fan character based on an exist series. Huzzah, my first OC on this account! Admittedly she doesn't have a big fancy story/plot like some of my others, but eh, not every character has to be a world-saver, right? :XD:

She is a singer! If the concert poster-ish feel I was going for with this had not made it obvious enough. :P More specifically electro-swing because listening to songs/music like that are what gave me the inspiration for Ms. Belle in the first place. Like this one, and this one, and this one, plus this one, also this one is really good... I really like electro-swing music, like more than I thought I would when I first heard of the genre, aha.

Also, Ms. Belle's hairstyle is supposed to be like a pompadour, kinda like what Janelle Monáe has in certain photos of her. I think it looks really cool!

For this picture in particular, I tried using a limited palette, basically only yellows and browns. I was inspired by Geneva Bowers, she's an artist I follow on Twitter who does amazing art will limited palettes! Seriously, go look, here's her art Twitter! ;o;

I think this turned out pretty great!! The shading is probably still kinda iffy in a few places, and my cursive turned out fairly atrocious, but still! This took a while, and for my level of skill, I think I did amazingly! :D
