Museum of the Marquise
This page is for me to talk about aesthetics and character designs that I like! There's some overlap between the two admittedly, but maybe that's a given, lol.
Aesthetics That Appeal To Me
This covers things that I like looking at mostly. From beautiful art to moodboards, also things like looped animations and stimboards!
- Ocean/water
- The Moon
- Space
- Landscapes in general, but especially plains and forests to be honest.
- Circuit boards, and technology in general, though computers in particular are always neat to look at/learn more about for me
- Solarpunk
- Post Cyberpunk
- Magitech, i.e. combining magic and technology in the same setting
- Halloween
- Witchcraft
- Glitchy stuff: Though preferably nothing too hard on the eyes!
- Cityscapes
- Flowers
- Mushrooms
- Interior Design; Mostly stuff that falls under things like mid-century. Usually stuff that also makes use of colors besides white, black, grey, and beige. More maximalist than minimalist for me!
- Sky, also weather as well. Looking at looped images for clouds moving and lighting striking is especially neat to me.
- Auroras
- Gemstones
- Neon Things
- Y2K Aesthetic Things
- Art Deco
- Art Noveau
- Cubism
- Surrealism
- Pride, as in LGBT+ things, but especially I like art that makes use of a pride flag's colors as a limited palette!
- Autumn, like with falling leaves and pumpkins and stuff like that. Ironic since where I live we don't really have much of an autumn, lol
- Something probably oddly specific: Art with mostly dark blue + gold color schemes, especially themed around the ocean or space/astrology/astronomy.
Character Designs That Appeal To Me
These don't always overlap with my favorite charatcers. Still, I love seeing the kinds of really unique designs people will come up with for these design types!
- Aliens
- Androids
- Angels; Especially ones that aren't just "human with wings and a halo", but more monsterous. Be not afraid!
- Anthro characters, espcially seeing rarely-used species is always cool. Heck, not just animals, but anthros of things like plants and objects too!
- Cartoons
- Clowns
- Cryptids
- Cyborgs
- Demons; similar case to angels, I prefer the more monsterous designs over the human-like ones.
- Dragons
- Fairies
- Fantasy stuff in general; orcs, elves, and so on. I've seen a lot of people pull off really unique and fun designs with this sort of topic!
- Folklore and mythology based characters, be it based on a character from mytholog/folklore, or inspired by some sort of folklore/mythology
- Masks
- Mermaids
- Monsters in general
- Object Heads
- Puppets
- Robots/androids/what have you, though especially non-humanoid robots!
- Witches
